Students Compete in Environmental
Mind Grind Honouring Earth Day
The seventh annual Environmental Mind Grind competition
took place recently on April 22, honouring Earth Day. Elementary
and middle school teams from throughout Southern Interior cities
such as Kamloops, Vernon, Kelowna, Penticton and Trail demonstrated
their knowledge of local environmental issues by competing for
prizes and a chance to qualify for the Interior championships in
May in Kelowna.
In the Central Okanagan, twenty-five elementary and
middle school teams squared off to compete in the Terasen Gas Environmental
Mind Grind Challenge with hundreds of parents, friends and fellow
students cheering them on.
