Canadian Women in Timber Launch New Teacher Resource
& Updated Website
Canadian Women in Timber has completed and printed
a new 16 page colouring & activity book “FUN IN THE FOREST”
with Splinter the Woodpecker. It is suitable for students from K to
Gr. 5 and is filled with information about trees and forests and the
products we get from them. It also covers some info on forest health
and users of the forest. Each page has a different activity with some
pages suitable for younger kids and some pages more suitable for older
ones. CWIT has the copyright to the character “Splinter the
Woodpecker”, but teachers and educators may make copies of any
of the pages in the book for their own use. The books are available
for $1.50 each plus postage or shipping and can be purchased by contacting
Betty-Ann McDonald of Canadian Women in Timber- bettyann@telus.net
Canadian Women in Timber will launch its new and
improved website during the first week of June. The site will have
up to date news and information. Visit us at: www.canadianwomenintimber.com
