Forest Education Van News

The theme inside the Forest Education van has been changed to “forest health”. There are new pictures and information on the bark beetles, defoliators, disease, and fire. With the devastation that BC is facing from the Mountain Pine Beetle, it was a great opportunity to provide information to help educate students and the general public who visit the van.

This is the first year that the Interior Logging Association has been able to hire a driver/educator for the Forest Education Van for the months of May through August. With the hiring of Geoff Smart, UBC forestry student, the van is being utilized by more schools and communities than in the past.
