UBC and BCIT Recruiters Visit Okanagan High Schools

Recruiters from UBC and BCIT’s forestry and renewable resource faculties visited a number of Central Okanagan and North Okanagan/Shuswap high schools in early April in conjunction with their career fair booths at the ILA tradeshow in Vernon. Students from classes such as Planning 10, Geography 12, and senior sciences heard presentations about programs and opportunities in choosing to study forestry, from forest ecosystems and forest resource technology to wood products processing, forest resource management, forest operations, forest science and natural resource conservation. As well, students were given some insight and understanding into the management of our forests and the diversity of jobs available to graduates within the industry.
