Endless Opportunities in the Forest Industry: Visiting Local High Schools
In November, Jennifer and Kalon toured recruiters from the forestry programs at UBC and Selkirk College to nine schools in the Okanagan-Columbia zone. During the week, forestry instructor Pete Schroder (Selkirk College) and forestry recruiter Tristan Banwell (UBC) talked to 395 Grade 10 - 12 students about the vast array of employment opportunities in the forest industry. The students gained overall knowledge about forestry, in addition to earning about job opportunities. The following schools participated: Golden Sec., Revelstoke Sec., Salmon Arm Sec., W.L.
