Expanding Our Roots
Canadian Women in Timber Feature New Website & Teacher Resource
Last
spring, the Canadian Women in Timber completed their latest project,
a new 16 page colouring & activity book called, "FUN
IN THE FOREST" with Splinter the Woodpecker. It is
suitable for students from K to Gr. 5 and is filled with information
about trees and forests and the products we get from them. It also
covers some info on forest health and users of the forest. Each
page has a different activity with some pages suitable for younger
kids and some pages more suitable for older students. CWIT has
the copyright to the character "Splinter the Woodpecker",
but teachers and educators may make copies of any of the pages
in the book for their own use. The books are available for $1.50
each plus postage or shipping and can be purchased or downloaded
by going to their new
and improved website at: www.canadianwomenintimber.com
