Learn Forestry – a resource tool for teachers

Welcome to our website!   When we began the site in 1998, we were two former teachers working as forest educators in the Southern Interior of BC (Central Okanagan-Columbia) who had developed a number of teaching resources which we shared with teachers via workshops.  We felt there had to be an easier way to get new, up-to-date information to teachers on a regular basis and as a result, a partnership was formed with information technology students at Kalamalka Secondary school in Vernon, BC.  The students designed a website to house our resources, promote events and share student work related to forestry.  The website has grown over the years resulting in the need to have a professional webmaster working on the site year round.  We hope that  the latest addition of a newsletter, will allow us to keep you up to date on forest education as it takes place not only in the Okanagan-Columbia, but throughout BC as well.  Our goal is to keep the site factual, non-biased and current.  Today and in the future, we will endeavor to develop resources that enhance and/or support the school curriculum. We hope you will find the website a useful resource!
